Northern Areas Sinkiang ink MoU

Islamabad: The Northern Areas of Pakistan and Sinkiang province of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for the promotion and cooperation in agriculture, communication, Tourism and mining sectors. The MoU was singed by Chief Secretary Northern Areas Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and a visiting Chinese delegation led by the Deputy Commissioner of Sinkiang province today. The two sides held in-depth talks on strengthening cooperation in tourism, agriculture, communication, and mining sectors between the bordering areas of China and Pakistan. They also stressed the need for expanding trade in fruits and giving more travelling facilities to the business community of the two bordering areas. The Chief Secretary Northern Areas said that understanding of each others culture and promotion of trade was essential for bringing prosperity and improving the living standards of the people in border areas.
