LeT Commander Killed In J&K, Weapons Recovered

Jammu: Security forces on Monday shot dead a self-styled section commander of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, officials said. On a tip off, police and security forces cordoned the Panchal Nallah area and in the subsequent encounter killed Pakistan-trained Tariq Hussain Wani alias Abu Hamza. The troops recovered one AK rifle along with magazine and 20 bullets from Wani, who was active in the area for past four years. In another search operation, security forces busted a rebel hideout in Wanipora area of Doda on Sunday. A gunny bag containing 500 grams of RDX, several bullets and a battery charger were recovered. Troops also dug out a bag containing four grenades and some explosive material in Peeli village of Kathua district on Monday.
