Call To Start Intra-Kashmir Trade

Mirpur: Azad Jammu Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zulfiqar Abbasi has called for taking immediate practical steps to launch the exchange of Intra-Kashmir trade between both parts of Kashmir. In a press statement released by the AJKCCI here on Friday, he said that the trade delegation of the AJKCCI could not perform the visit to occupied Jammu & Kashmir despite announcement to this direction few months ago and said 'This is extremely tragic'. He further said that it was sad that the business community from both sides of Kashmir could not perform the trade visits between both sides of LoC. The AJKCCI president called upon both India and Pakistan to initiate immediate steps for exchange of economic activities between both parts of the J&K state. Abbasi also called for opening of the routes on the LoC in J&K state for launching intra-Kashmir trade. He emphatically demanded that the J&K people should be allowed for free movement across the LoC. He said that trade activities were receiving a tremendous boost at the world level and observed that the exchange of free trade between either sides of the LoC was beneficial for both Pakistan and India. He said that necessary arrangements be made for exchange of bilateral visits of the trade delegations between both sides of Kashmir side by side the exchange of the bilateral tours of the businessmen between India and Pakistan.
