HM Ultra Shot Dead By LeT

Jammu: A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed in an inter-group clash with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) cadre at village Kulthu Chilly under the jurisdiction of Gandoh police station in Doda district this morning. Slain militant has been identified as Abdul Qayoom alias Hakani son of Mohd Abdullah Malik R-o Soti, Gandoh. He was active in Gandoh and Bhalesa and was involved in recent killings of two civilians Mohd Ayub and Manwar Din from Kandli Chilly, Gandoh, an official handout said. Mohd Ayub was gunned down by the ultras as he tried to escape. A militant was also killed in the resultant encounter. The handout said Hakani's body with gun shots in chest and hands tied at the back was recovered from Manoo forest area at 9 am today. Body was later handed over to his family after post-mortem. Security forces and police have launched a search operation in the area. Meanwhile, 19 Bangladeshi nationals have been caught from near international border here while trying to cross over to Pakistan, sources said. A group of 11 Bangladeshis had tried to cross over to Pakistan via Akhnoor sector on the night of April 18. However, after being spotted by the security personnel, the Bangladeshis ran towards river Chenab, from where they were caught. Preliminary questioning revealed that they were trying to cross over to Pakistan after being brought here by a contractor with false promise of providing employment as labourers. In another incident, eight other Bangladeshis were caught from Paharpur area of Kathua district last evening while trying to cross over to Pakistan.
