Two Hizb Militants Arrested In J&K

Srinagar: Two suspected Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants, including an overground worker, were arrested from Pattan area in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said here on Thursday. A search team of 29 Rashtriya Rifles observed suspicious movement and challenged a man, who was apprehended after he tried to run away at Pattan on Wednesday evening, the official said. Identified as Hilal Ahmed Pala, he was carrying a 7.62mm pistol with one magazine and six rounds of ammunition, he said. On interrogation, he led the search team to a hideout from where one AK 47 rifle, two AK magazines and 20 rounds of AK ammunition were recovered, he said adding, Pala was believed to be a Pakistan-trained militant and listed with the Hizb. The forces also arrested Javed Ahmed Mir, an overground worker of the Hizb, he said adding, both the militants were handed over to the police.
