Top LeT ultra held in Doda

Srinagar: Police today arrested a dreaded Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant from Bharat area in Doda district. He has been identified as Mohd Iqbal son of Mohd Akram, a resident of Bharat. Police said Mohd Iqbal, 22, had joined militancy in 2000 but was arrested by police and security forces in April 2001. He was released in June 2003. However, he again joined militancy in 2005 and was deputed by Abu Umar, LeT commander to kill a civilian Jaffar Hussain son of Mohi-ud-Din R-o Bharat. Jaffar was killed on November 6. Arrested militant is being subjected to sustained questioning to ascertain clues about the hide- outs of Lashkar-e-Toiba.
