Islamabad: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Tuesday announced the launching of a peaceful movement to protest against the Indian occupation of Kashmir from January 9, 2007. JKLF leader Amanullah Khan announced the decision during a press conference on Tuesday. JKLF Chairman Sardar Saghir Khan was also present on the occasion. Amanullah Khan said that the statement of Pakistans Foreign Office spokesperson over the Kashmir issue was correct and based on facts. He demanded that Kashmiris from both sides of the Line of Control should exercise their right to self-determination, adding that the Kashmiri people should be given the right to decide whether they wanted accession with Pakistan or India. He said that the JKLF was making efforts to bring all Kashmiri political parties together on a single platform. We salute the people of Pakistan for continued support to the cause of the Kashmiris, he said. He said that the Kashmiri people would not accept any resolution of the Kashmir dispute that was against their aspirations. Nobody should confuse the freedom struggle with terrorism. The last meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Havana explicitly declared that there was a clear difference between freedom struggles and terrorism, he said.
