Jaish Area Commander Shot Dead In J&K

Jammu: Security forces have shot dead a self-styled area commander of Jaish- e-Mohmmad (JeM) outfit in Udhampur district, official sources said. Acting on a tip off, troops launched a cordon and search operation in Basan Nallah area of the district on Saturday evening, the sources said. During the search, an encounter took place in which one top militant, later identified as JEM area commander Mohmmad Manzoor alias Abu Mudassar code name Abu Noman, was killed, they said. One AK rifle, one pistol, 120 rounds, one grenade, one mobile phone, binocular and some currency was recovered from his possession, they said.
