One killed, 14 wounded in north Kashmir blast

Srinagar: One civilian was killed and 14 were wounded in a grenade explosion in Baramulla town Tuesday morning, while three people, including two guerrillas, were killed the night before in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.Police here said separatist guerrillas threw a grenade at an army vehicle in Azadgunj locality in Baramulla town, 54 km from here. It, however, missed the target and exploded on the road injuring the civilians. Munir Ahmed Bhat, who was critically injured in the blast, died in the hospital.'Munir succumbed to his splinter wounds in the Institute of Medical Sciences here late this afternoon,' said a police officer here.The other injured were being treated at the district hospital at Baramulla.No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.In another incident in Baramulla district late Monday, two guerrillas were shot dead by Rashtriya Rifles soldiers in Rafiabad, 60 km from here.Besides, guerrillas killed a youth identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Ittoo in north Kashmir's Sopore town Monday evening.
