Four Indian soldiers among five killed in Kashmir

Srinagar: Four Indian Army soldiers and a separatist guerrilla were killed in a fierce gunfight in a Jammu and Kashmir village Saturday.A police officer said troops of the 62 Rashtriya Rifles raided a house in Neldoora village in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, 70 km away, on specific information.'As our troops tried to enter the house, the militants fired indiscriminately and hurled grenades killing three soldiers instantly and critically wounded a junior commissioned officer who succumbed to his injuries,' the official said.'In the retaliatory fire, a guerrilla was killed.'In an unrelated incident, in south Kashmir's Pampore district, security forces surrounded a mosque in Wuyan village, 20 km from here where one guerrilla was holed up.'Intermittent firing exchanges are continuing,' the official said.
