Two Militants Killed In Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in separate encounters in Kupwara and Anantnag districts of Jammu and Kashmir, where a hideout was busted by security forces during search operations, officials said here. An unidentified militant was killed in a gunbattle with security forces at Tikkipora, 120 km from here, in Lolab area of Kupwara district on Monday, they said. The exchange of fire between the ultras and security forces was on when last reports came in, officials added. Hizbul Mujahideen militant Mohammad Iqbal Bodha was shot dead by security forces in an operation at Mehmoodabad in Dooru area of Anantnag district on Sunday night, they said. A pistol, two magazines, 15 rounds and a forged identity card were seized from the scene of the encounter. Security forces busted a militant hideout at Kirchapathri in Shopian area of Pulwama district on Sunday night and seized a .303 rifle, five hand grenades, three 7.62 mm rounds, 124 AK assault rifle rounds and two radio sets, they added.
