Jammu: A group of militants entered into Jammu and Kashmir from a launching pad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after cutting the fence along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri sector, officials said on Sunday. The militants operating from the launching pad opposite the Tarkundi belt along the LoC entered the Indian side around 0200 hours on Sunday, they said. The militants cut the three-tier fence and entered Kashmir, they said adding that troops guarding the LoC discovered the damaged fence and launched an operation to trace them. There was a brief exchange of fire between the militants and troops, resulting in injuries to some militants, who, however, managed to escape, the officials said. Cross border-infiltration has risen during the past month. On June 18, a group of 24 militants cut the fence and entered into Kashmir in the Mendhar-Balnoie area.
