CDR organising intra-Kashmir conference

New Delhi: The Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), a Delhi-based non- government organisation, is organising an intra-Kashmir conference in Jammu and Srinagar from tomorrow (Wednesday). Pakistanís former defence secretary Dr Himayun Khan, Justice (r) Abdul Hamid Malik of Muzaffarabad-based Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League and representatives of other Azad Jammu and Kasmir parties are participating in the conclave. Jammu and Kashmirís Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabir Ahmad Shah and Yaseen Malik have also confirmed their participation. Four years ago, CDR had initiated a dialogue process amongst the civil society in Jammu and Kashmir. This paved the way for inter-regional dialogues in partnership with other organizations, which was further taken across Line of Control. Since then, CDR has held two Kashmir roundtables. The present Intra- Kashmir Dialogue is being held in Jammu will take forward the discussions on different issues discussed during the last Kashmir roundtable held in January 2006.
