Man beheaded by suspected LeT militants

Srinagar : Suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba militants beheaded a man and threw his body in a village in Anantnag district, a police spokesman said on Sunday. The beheaded body was found lying at Kadder in Kulgam area this morning. Swaim Prakash Pani Superintendent of Police, Kulgam, said a note recovered from the body of victim said that the deceased was an informer and was beheaded by Lashker-e-Taiba militants. 'We are trying to establish the identity of the deceased and have also launched a hunt to bring the culprits behind this brutal act to book,' Mr. Pani said. Militants abducted 25-year old Imtiaz Ahmad Bhat from his paddy fields at Wurpash in Ganderbal area of Srinagar last evening. Bhat was taken to an unknown destination , the police spokesman said adding that his father had been killed by the militants in 2004. A civilian Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Kakarama village, was injured in a grenade explosion at cement bridge in Baramulla on Saturday. The grenade was hurled by militants at a security post but it fell short of the target and exploded on the road wounding Mir who has been hospitalised.
