Elections In AJK To Be Held In Mid Of Year: Sikander Hayat

Mirpur: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan has said that general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be held in mid of the year. 'Schedule of holding of the elections ot the AJK Legislative Assembly will be determined and announced through consultation with the opposition parties,' Hayat said while talking to various public representative delegations and his party workers at he Prime Minster House in Kotli late Monday.Sikander Hayat said that not only he would take part in the forthcoming general elections in AJK, but would also fully support the party's candidates in all other constituencies. He said that Muslim Conference was fully united and it could be assessed through the victory of all of the three nominees of the party in the recent elections to the Azad Jammu Kashmir Council, upper house of the AJK parliament. Sardar Sikander Hayat Khan advised the ruling Muslim Conference workers and supporters to move in the field by making preparations for the elections to get the party crowned with the success again in the coming polls. He asked the party workers to spread the party's message door to door about the extensive plan for the welfare and uplift of the common man across the AJK. He said that Muslim Conference would once again return to power through the upcoming elections on the basis of its extra-ordinary performance for the speedy progress sand prosperity of entire AJK. Sikandar Hayat said that breaches and rifts in the political parties always caused damage to the democratic values. He reiterated his resolve to continue performing his role for the supremacy of law and constitution and to strengthen the democratic process in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister said that his government was fully determined to convert AJK into a true model state. He said that the ongoing speedy pace of progress and prosperity through various ongoing and proposed public welfare projects for all spheres of life in the liberated territory were the ample proof of his government's sincere efforts for making the liberated territory a fully developed state. Hayat said that the development process across the AJK was underway with rapid speed since the present government came into existence. In this connection, he refereed to the emergence of various projects including installation of AJK television and AJK radio stations respectively in Muzaffarabd and Mirpur, cadet college, women university, net work of roads, colleges and hospitals. The Prime Minister said that the government was fully determined for the early reconstruction and rehabilitation of the quake-stricken zone to bring the life back to normal in minimum possible time side by side the ongoing development process in rest of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
