Srinagar: Three civilians from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) today also joined India's Republic Day celebrations here and were all praise to see such an impressive response by the local people. 'We were told (in PoK) that functions like Republic Day and Independence Day are boycotted by majority of the people. However, we were stunned to see thousands of people attending today's functions', the civilians from Kotli, PoK, told the reporters here after attending the celebrations. The three civilians-Jalal Din, Shamim Akhter and Zainam Bi had crossed Line of Control (LoC) from Tata Pani in Mendhar sector on January 23 on 15 days permit. They had come here to meet their relative Mohd Din at Darra Dullian in Jhalas area of this district. After watching cultural items presented by the students and the artists, the visitors pointed out that culture on the two sides was also similar. They said they have seen the people here enjoying full democracy which was not the case in PoK.
