Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and Member Parliament, Mehbooba Mufti has said that opening of Poonch-Rawalakot road and launching truck service between Srinagar and Muzaffrabad would further improve the relations between India and Pakistan. In a press statement issued here today, the PDP leader lauded this decision taken in New Delhi meeting between the foreign secretaries of both the countries. The truck service between Srinagar and Muzaffrabad in PoK would start the trade ties on the permitted goods. She said the decision of both the governments on exchange of trade and opening of routes which were hitherto closed should mark yet another milestone in the developing relations of two countries. These measures would certainly strengthen the ongoing peace process and will go long way to help resolve the disputes including that on Kashmir. Ms Mehbooba at the same time took exception to the statement of BJP president Rajnath Singh in which he has talked of abrogation of Article 370 which envisages special status to the Jammu and Kashmir state . She alleged that Rajnath unfortunately has chosen the time for issuing such statements when both the countries are involved in peace process and resolving Kashmir issue.
