Three LeT Terrorists Shot Dead In Poonch, Doda

Jammu: Troops shot dead three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including two 'commanders' of the Pakistan-based outfit in overnight encounters in Poonch and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was carried out on a hideout in Salwa area of Poonch district on Sunday night and two terrorists were killed in an ensuing gunbattle, they said. Those killed have been identified as LeT 'area commander' Mohmmad Farooq alias Abu Umer and Abu Sahail, both from Pakistan. They said two AK assault rifles, four magazines, 44 rounds, seven grenades and a radio set had been hauled in the operation, which was still on. In a second encounter, troops shot dead LeT 'area commander' Abu Umar, also from Pakistan, in Chaki Salian area of Poonch district on Sunday night. An AK assault rifle, three magazines, an under-barrel grenade launcher, a radio set and 10 grenades were found with him, they said. Troops also recovered a decomposed bullet-ridden body of an unidentified civilian in Paddar area of doda district on early Monday.
