Srinagar: Militants in Indian-administered Kashmir have killed at least 11 people in three attacks in Rajouri district, police say. A police officer said the killings took place late on Sunday evening. The motive for the killings was not clear but police say the men were suspected of being informers. The attacks come as relief operations are underway following Saturday's earthquake, which flattened more than one hundred houses. In one incident, the suspected militants attacked two adjoining houses of Hindus in the village of Rajnagar in Rajouri district. The attackers dragged out five men and killed them by slitting their throats, before escaping from the area, police said. In another incident, suspected militants killed five members of another Hindu family in the village of Gabbar. One person was also injured in the attack, police say. In yet another incident in a nearby village, a Muslim, Nazir Ahmad, was shot dead by suspected militants. More than 40,000 people have died in 14 years of insurgency in Kashmir.
