Jammu: A 'sectional commander' of the Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen was killed and another terrorist injured in an encounter with security forces in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, defence officials said on Sunday. A team of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of J&K police launched a search operation in Achholbani in the district on Saturday on a lead that the terrorists were hiding there, they said. Mohammad Yousuf alias Badshah and code-named 'Tiger One', and his associates opened fire on seeing the security forces approaching their makeshift tent in the jungle. The Hizb 'sectional commander' was killed in the retaliatory fire while another terrorist was injured and managed to escape, they said adding that an AK assault rifle and two magazines were found on him. Yousuf was known as Guddu Gujjar and hailed from Dessa area in the district. He took up militancy in 2001 and was a bodyguard of Hizb Doda 'divisional commander' Jamsheed Marker, killed by security forces on December 10 last year.
