New Delhi: A small town on the outskirts of Srinagar is planned to be developed as a satellite city to ease the load on the infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital. The plan is under consideration of the Special Task Force set up by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to oversee overall development of the State. As per the plan, which is at conceptual stage, the place called Parihaspura towards north of Srinagar, is to be developed into a city, Task Force member Haseeb Drabu said. He said the proposal had been discussed once and considerable work was needed for its implementation. The need for such a proposal has been felt as the congestion in Srinagar is increasing rapidly.
