Islamabad: The World Bank says it will appoint an expert soon to mediate in India and Pakistan's dispute over a hydro-electric dam in Kashmir. India says it is building the Baglihar Dam on the River Chenab to provide badly needed power to the part of Kashmir it administers. Pakistan fears the dam will give India control of one of its most important water supplies. Pakistan asked the bank to mediate after talks broke down last month. The bank says it expects to appoint the mediator within the next few months.
