Kashmiris to hold rallies tomorrow

Mirpur: Hectic preparations are being made by the Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and in the rest of the world to observe the right to self-determination day on January 5. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, public rallies, and special gatherings and processions, in all the seven district headquarters of the liberated territory. The special meetings would highlight the importance of the right of self- determination for the Kashmiri people which was being denied by India for the last six decades. Speakers in these meetings would reiterate the Kashmiris' just stand before the world. They would especially call for the early granting of the birthright to self- determination to the Kashmiris without further delay. The day reiterates the long cherished demand of the Kashmiris for their birthright to decide about their destiny under the spirit of the UN resolutions. 'It would be once again declared by the Kashmiris before the world, through the special meetings at both sides of the LoC and in the rest of the world, that the Kashmir problem should be resolved only in accordance with the UN resolutions,' said Shakoor Mughal, organizer of one of the meetings to be held on January 5. He said that the rally would reiterate the demand for an early settlement of the Kashmir issue.
