Government Against Trifurcation Of J&K14 December 2004 The Hindustan Times
New Delhi: Government on Tuesday gave clear indication in the Lok Sabha that it was against any move to trifurcate Jammu and Kashmir. 'The policy of Government of India has been explained at large and that policy continues,' Home Minister Shivraj Patil said in reply to a discussion on internal security in the country. Replying to a question by Abdul Rashid Shaheen (NC) on the issue of trifurcation of the state into Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions, Patil said the Government wanted the state to prosper and do well. He did not elaborate any further.
