Lahore: The chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Amanullah Khan, has said that only the liberation of Kashmir as an independent state would be acceptable to the Kashmiris. According to the Daily Times , Khan while addressing a dialogue titled 'Future of Kashmir' said that both India and Pakistan should evolve strategies and devise formulas to solve the Kashmir imbroglio in a manner that would be acceptable to the 30 million Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC). He further added that since partition, both India and Pakistan had illegally occupied the Kashmir valley and now both the countries under pressure from Western powers were hurriedly trying to find solutions to the dispute without taking into account the aspirations and willingness of the Kashmiris. He further criticised Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's proposals to divide Kashmir into seven divisions saying that Kashmir was not booty to be shared as spoils between India and Pakistan.
