Srinagar: Two soldiers, a policeman and three civilians have been arrested over the alleged gang-rape of a woman in Kashmir, police said on Friday. The six were arrested from a guesthouse guarded by paramilitary personnel in the Raj Bagh locality of Srinagar, a police officer told AFP. He said police had found the 20-year-old woman unconscious in the guesthouse on Thursday after being alerted by security guards. She was taken to hospital where she complained of being gang-raped inside the guest house by six people, including two soldiers and a policeman. The woman claimed she had been duped into staying at the guesthouse by two fellow passengers of a taxi she had shared from Jammu, after arriving late in Srinagar on Wednesday. The passengers were among those arrested. Medical staff at Srinagar's women's hospital have confirmed the woman was raped by more than one person and that her body bore signs of torture.
