India has to implement UN resolution on Kashmir: Benazir

Islamabad: Former prime minister and Chairperson of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Benazir Bhutto has said the Indian government has to ultimately implement the UN resolutions on Kashmir else the whole region would be tossed in a deadly war. In a meeting with former PPP secretary information AJK, Benazir underlined the need for taking into confidence the people of Kashmir before initiating dialogue at any stage for a durable solution of the lingering Kashmir dispute, said a press release here on Tuesday. Appreciating the struggle of the PPP AJK workers, she said they had rendered unprecedented struggle for the restoration of democracy in the past. She said Barrister Sultan Mehmood and Sabzada Ishaq Zafar were working with mutual consultation and understanding to strengthen the party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. She also expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic demise of President PPP Muzaffarabad Syed Shaukat Naqvi and termed it a great loss. On the occasion, the former secretary information apprised her of the policies of the AJK government.
