Division of Kashmir not acceptable, AJK President

New York,: AJK President Major General Sardar Mohammed Anwar Khan has said that the people of Kashmir will never accept the division of Kashmir and pointed out they have not made tremendous sacrifices to make the LoC as the permanent boundary line. He was addressing a reception given in his honour by the Kashmiri community here. About the recent meeting between President Gen.Pervez Musharraf and the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New York he held that one should not attach great hopes with the current Indo-Pak talks and added Manmohan Singh is not in a position to take bold decisions. He pointed out that those who opposed Sonia Gandhi due to her Italian connection will not also allow Manmohan to take concrete decision in the context of Kashmir issue. Sardar Anwar expressed the view that the Kashmiris will have to continue their struggle to achieve their goal, as their destination is still far away. He stated that any solution of Kashmir must satisfy the Kashmiris .He called upon them not lose heart despite odds. The Kashmiri leader stressed that the Kashmiris on both sides should get an opportunity to meet each other as interaction between them may help resolve the Kashmir issue. However this facility should be provided to them without any restriction of visa and passports, he observed. 'I am in favour of meeting between the divided families,' Sardar Anwar elaborated. The AJK President made it clear that we should not be very much optimistic about the solution of Kashmir and exhorted the Kashmiris to be prepared to render more sacrifices. The reception was preside over by Mohammad Taj while it was also addressed by Dr. Abdur Rahman, Sardar Mohammad Shafi, Raja MukhtarAhmad and others.
