10 militants killed in J&K

Jammu: Ten militants were killed today in three separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir. Nine of them belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Acting on information about the presence of six militants in Mandi Nala of Poonch district two days ago, an ambush was laid, sources said. In the ensuing encounter that ended this evening, the six, belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed near the ambush site. Three LeT militants were killed this afternoon at Ghundi area of Poonch district. Three AK rifles, nine AK magazines, eight hand grenades and two radio sets were recovered. A militant was killed at Dharman near Machhedi in Kathua district. He was identified as Mohammad Ayaz, a launch commander of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen for Udhampur, Kathua and Marmat.
