New Delhi: Tuesday's revelation by Jammu and Kashmir's Director-General of Police Gopal Sharma that the Lashkar-e-Toiba unit busted in Srinagar had planned attacks on targets in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune has rattled the Pune police. Shortly after television channels flashed the news, Police Commissioner D.N. Jadhav held a meeting with senior police officials to chalk out various strategies. Jadhav said the Pune police were waiting for some communication from the J&K police or any other agency. 'We would be informed if they find it necessary. Otherwise, we would contact the police in Jammu and Kashmir,' he said. As for security in the city, Jadhav said there was no cause for concern. He said,' All vital installations and sensitive places are being guarded.' He also made some clarifications - no people associated with Javed Shaikh had disappeared suspiciously after he was killed; there was no evidence showing more people from Pune were linked with LeT and the plot of the mission on which Javed and 3 others were was not hatched in Pune.
