NEW DELHI: The new Indian Government said it will go ahead with the proposed opening of road between Uri in Kashmir and Muzaffarabad in Azad Kashmir but was awaiting response from Islamabad on the issue. 'We are ready (for opening the road). We are waiting for response from Pakistan,' the new Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu told reporters after assuming office here. He, however, said the proposal would have to be cleared by the Defence Ministry, reports PTI. The proposal had been initiated by the previous NDA Government as part of peace process with Pakistan.
