HIMMATNAGAR (GUJARAT): Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today ruled out any ceasefire with militants in Jammu and Kashmir. 'There is nothing as such at the moment,' he said when asked by reporters if there was possibility of a ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of talks with the Hurriyat Conference. The statement of Advani puts to rest all speculation that the Centre was contemplating announcing a step similar to non-initiation of combat operations during the holy month of Ramzan in 2001. Hurriyat leaders had raised the issue of announcing the ceasefire during their first meeting with Advani on January 22. (PTI)
