Kashmir explosion wounds 40 soldiers
20 March 2004
SRINAGAR, India: At least 40 soldiers were wounded on Saturday when a roadside bomb exploded as their convoy passed en route to Indian Kashmir's main city, Srinagar. An army spokesman said there were no further details. No militant group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Separatist violence continues in the disputed Himalayan region despite peace moves between nuclear rivals India and Pakistan, which came to the brink of a third war over the Kashmir 2002.
