Maleeha assures Kashmiri parties of Pakistanís support

LONDON: Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr. Maleeha Lodhi, during a meeting with British Kashmiri representatives here late Thursday, has reassured them of Islamabad's firm support for seeking a just solution of the Kashmir issue. She was talking to the representatives of the Kashmiri parties who came from across the United Kingdom to attend the meeting at Pakistan High Commission here. Maleeha hoped the resumption of the composite dialogue between Pakistan and India next month would begin a peace process for a just solution of the Kashmir issue. During a lengthy meeting she had a candid discussion with them and took them into confidence on the resumption of dialogue between Pakistan and India. Kashmiri leaders apprised her of their viewpoint on the resumption of talks and assured that they were in favour of the dialogue between the two countries for resolution of the long-pestering issue in accordance with the UN resolutions. The representatives of the British Kashmiris hoped India would respond to the latest peace moves in South Asia by improving human rights situation in Indian held Kashmir.
