Jammu: Former legislator and chief patron of Chenab Valley Hill Development Council, Sheikh Abdul Rehman has said that a faction of Hurriyat conference holding dialogue with Centre is not the representative of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and a round table conference be held involving people from all the regions including Gilgit, PoK, Ladakh and Jammu for the last solution of this issue. Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Rehman said that a faction of Hurriyat even not represents fifty percent of the Kashmir division. How it can represent the other parts of the regions like Jammu, Ladakh and even the areas of other side of the LOC. It shows that Dy Prime Minister L K Advani and other Central leaders are not serious and just befooling the people of this state. He suggested to hold a round table conference inviting all the parties concerned and the representatives from Ladakh, Gilgit, POK, Jammu, KPs and others for a permanent and lasting solution to this problem. If both the countries are serious in resolving it, they must take bold initiative for restoring permanent peace by finding a permanent solution. While appreciating the efforts of Vajpayee and Musharraf in taking some confidence building measures, Mr Rehman said that peace initiative is very good and is in the larger interest of the people of both the countries. But Mufti Sayeed and Ghulam Nabi Azad are befooling people of this state and the country by taking undue credit for it. He pointed out that foreign pressure and internal compulsions for both Musharraf and Vajpayee could be the reason for making efforts towards peace. He also criticised NDA Government for announcing special concessions before elections. But there is not special offer for poor, labourers and farmers. Launching scathing attack on State Government Mr Rehman alleged that it has failed on all the fronts. Corruption has broken all the records. Accountability is no more visible and performance is only seen in the papers. Mufti befooled people on Accountability Commission issue and more all the major agendas of CMP including Wazir Commission report implementation have been ignored. There are lot of contradictions within the coalition partners. He pointed out that this Government is not going to continue for longer. He further reiterated his demand for granting Chenab Valley Hill Development Council status to parts of Doda and Udhampur.
