Mufti proposes ferry service on Neelum

JAMMU: The head of Indian-occupied Kashmir said on Sunday he wants to launch a public ferry service across a river dividing the disputed Himalayan region with neighbouring Pakistan.Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed said he would ask Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to propose to Pakistan that the boat service is started across the Neelum River.'A ferry service across the Neelum... should be considered, with some border posts on both sides, so that members of the divided families can easily meet each other,' Sayeed said at a public meeting in Kathua, 140km south of Jammu. -AP
