Srinagar: Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) has rejected the appeal of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to lay down their arms. In a statement Gazi Nasir-u- Din, chief operational commander of the HM said they would lay down their arms only after the ongoing movement is taken to its logical conclusion, Kashmir Times reported. He added that it is only due to the impact of the gun that the Kashmir issue has been highlighted on the international front, otherwise this issue would have been buried a long time ago. 'We would not repeat the mistakes of 1947 when the freedom fighters were lured by the surrender policy and we would not do the same this time', said the chief operational commander. Mehbooba Mufti had recently asked Hizb to give up arms in view of the talks initiated by government of India and thaw in Indo-Pak relations. 'With the grace of Almighty we would strengthen our resolve of taking the movement to its logical end and no stone will be left un-turned in achieving our goal', Gazi said. He viewed that gun has forced government of India to come to the negotiating table. The chief of HM while paying tributes to the slain fr4eedom fighters, urged upon the people to launch joint efforts so that the sacrifices of the masses do not go waste. -
