Kashmiris' Sacrifices Not To Go Waste: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: Former APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has reiterated that the unique sacrifices of the Kashmiri liberation martyrs will not be allowed to go waste. In an interview, he said, Kashmiris have been carrying on memorable struggle for the past 56 years for their birth right of self-determination. The sacrifices they are offering are unparalleled. He stressed that solid unity is inevitable for securing a lofty objective, KMS reported. The Mirwaiz said, 'our struggle is aimed at obtaining our birth right of self-determination and not getting privileges and benefits. We want our usurped right to be realized through peaceful and result oriented talks.' He said, the initial steps taken by Pakistan and India for settling Kashmir issue have evoked great pleasure and happiness among Kashmiris. Kashmiri leadership is concentrating on speeding up the pace of progress towards improving Pakistan-India relations. This is imperative for an honorable settlement, through talks of the Kashmir issue, in accordance with Kashmiris aspirations. -
