145 kms LoC fenced: Vij

PATHANKOTE: Nearly 145-km stretch along the Line of Control has been fenced and high tech thermal imagers installed along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian army chief General NC Vij said Saturday. By June 2005 entire LoC will be fenced, he said adding that 1500 hand-held thermal imagers have been inducted in J and K with positive results. The situation at the Indo-Pak border had improved after successful anti-militancy operations by army troops in depth areas along the border, he said, a quoted by PTI. Regarding replacement of BSF, he said that it will continue in a phased manner to avoid any gap on security, intelligence and operational fronts.
