Hizbul Commander Surrenders In J-K

Jammu: Top Hizbul Mujahideen militant Ishtiyaq Ali surrendered before police in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on Monday. Ali alias Saifullah, an area commander of the outfit, laid down his weapons, including one AK rifle, before police at Niyali village of the district on Sunday, they said. He also handed over five magazines, six grenades, one pistol, one wireless set, three UBGL grenades and one IED. The sources said that Ali's surrender comes close on the heels of that of 17 top Lashker-e-Toiba and Teji militants in Poonch district and was a blow to Hizbul Mujahideen.
