PUTRAJAYA: The Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Contact Group on Kashmir met on the sidelines of the 10th Summit in Malaysia's administrative capital of Putrajaya and called for an early resolution of the Kashmir issue. New Delhi had not yet responded to Syed Ali Gilani's letter asking for permission to go abroad to participate in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) summit in Malaysia, said the Hurriyat Conference on Tuesday. According to Kashmir Media Service, Gilani had written to the Indian External Affairs Ministry asking them to release his travel documents so he could participate in the OIC meeting in New York and Malaysia, but there was no response from the ministry. A Hurriyat spokesman told reporters that Gilani included in his letter the Indian Supreme Court ruling which described the provision of travel documents as a fundamental right. The spokesman called New Delhi's action irresponsible. -APP
