Ansari attacks OIC
1 October 2003
Jammu: . The chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, Moulvi Abbas Ansari, has lashed out at the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) accusing it of becoming 'a stooge of powerful countries' and failing to address key issues confronting the Muslim world. The OIC has invited the head of the rebel faction of the Hurriyat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, to participate in an ongoing meet in New York. Articulating his views, Mr. Ansari said that his group hardly bothered about invitations of those organisations, which 'failed to address key issues confronting the Islamic world'. He said the 'OIC has failed to live up to the expectations of Muslims across the world. They could not even save Iraq from invasion. They are just stooges of some powerful countries and fire only paper missiles. '
