Jammu: Five hours after a militant attack on a police station, in which a Special Police Officer (SPO) was killed and four others injured in Surankote in Poonch district, police today tracked down and killed the fidayeen responsible for it. A LeT fidayeen threw a Chinese-make grenade and started indiscriminate firing on the Surankote police station around 9:20 a.m., official sources said. In the attack, SPO Munawar Hussain was wounded and later died before he was airlifted to Jammu to for specialised treatment and four injured. Though guards retaliated and Army assistance eventually arrived, the fidayeen managed to escape. The Let militant was, however, cornered 500m away and killed around 2 p.m.
