AJK TV Channel To Be Inaugurated On Feb 5: Waqar

Islamabad: Television, Akhtar Waqar Azeem has said that Azad Kashmir T.V channel will be inaugurated on February 5, 2004. ' PTV on a short notice launched new channel of PTV National. Now the AJK TV, Channel, as per government announcement, will be inaugurated on February, 5, 2004', he said this in his key note address in a ceremony held at Islamabad Centre on Friday. He went on to say that work is underway on the PTV home channel as announced by the Information Minister. This will soon be launched, he added. Underlining the rapid achievements of PTV, he said that it is all set to face all the challenges of modern time. The creative workers are asset of the organisation. This creative work should sustain. ' We will go ahead with the hard work of the workers, he hoped. He congratulated the lucky workers of PTV who have been selected through balloting for proceeding to perform hajj. The workers who were selected include Nazir Hussain Transmission Supervisor, Malik Muhammad Aslam Driver and Safdar Ali Security Guard. He also distributed coloured TV set among the retired employees and the family members of deceased. Talking of the fiscal matters of the PTV, he disclosed that it has earned profit amounting to Rs 68 million as against 50 million of previous year despite Iraq war. The situation will be improved in the coming years. He maintained that the next year will be celebrated as significant and special year of PTV. The office bearers of PTV employees union while addressing the ceremony hoped that workers and administration of the PTV will work together to make it financially strong and stable.
