Srinagar: In a gruesome act, terrorists abducted a Kashmiri Muslim villager along with his son during a midnight raid on their house and then beheaded them in a nearby field, the police said here on Wednesday. The gunmen, who had covered their faces with bandannas, barged into the house of one Abdul Ahad Khan at Sangrampora, in Dangiwacha in northwestern Baramulla district, and forcibly took him and his son Aashiq Hussain out. The father and son were then executed by cutting off their heads, the police said. The entire village, on hearing about the brutal act with the first light of day, was out to mourn and protest against the killings. It was not known why the father and son were chosen for such a gory act. The security forces, meanwhile, shot dead a terrorist identified by them as Abu Sayeed, a resident of Peshawar, Pakistan, during a clash that occurred at Nagmarg Behak in the Lalpora area of frontier Kupwara district. Two terorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces and the police at Lurgam Tral in southern Pulwama district, while a soldier, Hawaldar Tilak Chand, died in an exchange of fire with terrorists at Zandpal Kunzer near the hill resort of Gulmarg. The police also reported that unidentified gunmen shot dead one Imtiyaz Ahmed of village Hathiwara in Pulwama district in Srinagar's Aloochi Bagh area. Residents of Shahabad Dooru in Anantnag district are up in arms against the Rashtriya Rifles over the man it had killed last week near Srinagar claiming that he was a terrorist.
