Jammu: There could not be a better occasion for any army formation to get kudos than a massive public meeting. When the army is targeted under a propaganda war for everything bad despite their good work and scarifices, the 12 RR stole the show at a public meeting at Banihal organised today in connection with the visit of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his cabinet colleagues. The local MLA, Moulvi Abdul Rashid was sore that 17 RR had stopped some vehicles carrying his supporters from Pogal area but he showered all praises for 12 RR located at Banihal town for the good conduct. He was not alone in his appreciation. The huge crowd estimated at more than 10,000 endorsed his views by giving thunderous applause. Later, the Chief Minister met the Commanding Officer of the Unit, Col. Dilawar and complimented him for winning the hearts of people by good conduct. He said if such conduct is followed by everyone, things will improve much faster. Later on, the DIG, Doda-Udhampur range, Mr. Navin Aggarwal told the Chief Minister that 17 RR had to stop vehicular movement for a while on Pogal road following interception of a message of IED being planted on the road. However, later the road was cleared and traffic restored and Moulvi Rashid's supporters joined the rally making it a grand success by all standards.
