Islamabad: Pakistan Friday said that there is no formula on Kashmir under consideration and the solution of the issue would be only settled in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir. 'Pakistan has been not considering any formula on Kashmir including one reported as Chennab Formula on Kashmir and the only formula is to settle Kashmir issue according to the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,' Foreign Secretary Riaz H. Khokhar Friday revealed to NNI. According to the reported Chennab formula on Kashmir, Line of Control could be considered a permanent border between the two Kashmir and three districts of Jammu my be given to Pakistani Kashmir besides giving an autonomous status to a portion of valley being divided by river Chennab. But the autonomous status would be under the Indian constitution with the provision that Kashmiris of both the Kashmir could enter and depart freely in the autonomous valley. The Foreign Secretary however ruled out that any country of the international community has proposed any such formula. 'When Pakistan and India will resume formal talks may be some suggestions would be discussed for the resolution of Kashmir dispute but it would be premature to name any such formula at this stage,' he said. Asked if Pakistan has finalized the official to be appointed as High Commissioner in India, he said, 'The appointment of new HC to New Delhi will be announced soon.' He, however declined to tell about any decision taken in this regard. When insisted to tell the name of the new HC, he said that there are different names under consideration and would be proposed to the government to name one of them. 'We have already proposed a few names and waiting for the decision. We will make the name public when decided,' he said.
