ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami General Secretary Syed Munawwar Hussain has said that Kashmiris were free to go across the Line of Control as there was no border between Azad and Indian held Kashmir. He said that Kashmiris had waited for 40 years in hope that their dispute would be resolved under the UN resolution, but had been forced to pick up arms after they saw that it was all to no avail. Speaking at a banquet hosted by the London Branch of the Freedom Movement (UK) in his honor, Syed Munawwar Hussain said that the real party in the Kashmir dispute were the Kashmiris themselves and that no government could be imposed on them without their consent. He said that the Pakistan government should re-evaluate its Kashmir policy and not expect much from the up- coming talks with India as these were just mind games as the Indian leadership play from time to time. Syed Munawwar Hussain said that Pakistan should strengthen its armed forces to counter any threat from the enemies.
