AJK union of Journalists rejects press and publication law

RAWALPINDI: Union of Journalist of Azad Jammu & Kashmir has threatened to boycott if the press and publication ordinance was implemented in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This was decided at a meeting held at Rawalpindi Press Club here on Monday presided over by Naz Butt Naji. Zonal and central journalists participated in the meeting. Central member of the union would visit Azad Kashmir to resume the membership of the Union adding that the union would hold two-day meeting of the central executive committee in Mirpur in the second week of February. The meeting would be addressed by Federal Minister for Information & Media Development, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and AJK Prime Minister, Sardar Shaukat Hayat Khan. Central Secretary, Sardar Tahir Ahmed Abbasi, Vice President of PFUJ, Sardar Abdur-ur-Razzak, Iftikhar Khokhar, Asif Rithvi, Sardar Mohammad Yasin Khan, Syed Afraz Gardezi, Raja Nisar Ahmed and other participated in the meeting.
