Srinagar: Pro-Pakistan Al-Umer Mujahideen outfit today said it has lifted its ''self-imposed'' ban on Hurriyat Conference leaders from visiting the Jamia Masjid here with immediate effect. The outfit had last month ''forbiddent'' Hurriyat leaders barring JKLF chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik, firebrand Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and former chairman of the amalgam Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, from entering the shrine last month following the latest round of talks between the separatists and Kashmir Committee led by former union Law Minister Ram Jethmalani. A person claiming to be the spokesman of Al-Umer called the news organisations to withdraw the ban with immediate effect. Asked about the reasons for the latest decision of the outfit, the spokesman said the decision was taken at a meeting of the outfit’s high command.
